International Woman's Day

Amelia Earhart

The woman that I admired the most is Amelia Earhart. Her full name is Amelia Mary Earhart and born on 24th of July 1897 at Atchison, Kansas, U.S. She was best known for the first woman who flies solo across the Atlantic Ocean.

She received home-schooling and get in public school at the age of 12 for seventh grade student. She then continued to Central High School and move to Hyde Park High School. She also went to Ogantz School as a junior college. She did train as a nurse aide and work at Volunteer Aid Detachment during World War I.

Her father needs to pay for her first ride. That ride determined her to learn to fly and she work a lot of jobs to earn money for her flying lesson. She cropped her hair short to look like other woman flyers. She also bought a second-hand bright yellow Kinner Airster biplane and she was the 16th woman to be issued a pilot license.

Unfortunately, she disappeared with her navigator, Fred Noonan on July 2, 1937 somewhere over the central of Pacific Ocean during their attempted round-the-world flight and them both declared dead on January 5, 1939. Some said they are crashed and sink while other said that they fake their death and lived somewhere else. Until now, nobody knows the truth.

She was a determined woman and dare to do something new and dangerous. She was as brave as man where she learns how to fly and make a lot of world record. Moreover, she was so clever to plan her trip and did write some book about her journey. She was such an independent woman who we should learn from. Furthermore, she also was a kind and friendly person which make her the perfect woman. She looks great no matter in the pretty dresses or even in her flying jacket. She was the example of the woman that we should follow. And last but not least, I hope that her soul may rest in peace and we should learn some lesson on how great she was.
